08 Reworking Website
Date Completed: 01 / 02 / 2023

Module: 62_1
Duration: 15 Days

Softwares used:

The Brief:

The aim of this project is to refine our skills in UX/UI and to possibly
start looking for our masters, if we plan on studying in the future. The
project is divided in two parts, they go as follows:

Part 1:
Research and analyze five different websites from five different master
courses. These master courses have to be the same as each other, and
out of the research we have done we must create 5 infographics that
visually explain the website and its style.

Part 2:
The second part of the project is to pick out the worst website out of all the chosen ones, and re-create the landing page and the Masters page.
The limitation is that we are not allowed to edit the main brand nor
change the logo. We must also create a brochure that would be for the website using the same concept, and then create a marketing campaign.

Part 1: Infographics and Research

Uni 1: CEI Escuela de Diseño y Marketing

A university with multple locations all over the world. They are found in Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla, and offer a wide variety of courses.
Anything from a short term photoshop course to a full master degree. The courses are in spanish.

Uni 2: CEU - Universidad Cardenal Herrera

A university also with multple locations, found in Barcelona and Madrid, the CEU is a university that offers a wide variety of courses that go also outside of design, such as law and engineering. They offer anything from short term courses, to bachelors and masters. The courses are in spanish.

Uni 3: ASS College

An international university found in greece that also offers a wide variety of courses, but that are more focused on design. They offer
things like Animation, Fashion, Advertising and Graphic design, both as bachelors and as Master Degrees.

Uni 4: ESDESIGN - Escuela Superior de Diseño de Barcelona

An online university that has its headquarters located in Barcelona. They offer many courses, and with the advantage that you can study wherever and whenever you want, making them appealing to other people. They offer only master courses, and the courses are in spanish.

Uni 5: FIDI - Florence Institute of Design International

The Florence Institute of Design is a university set in the center of florence, offering a small, but design focused set of summer courses,
bachelors and master degrees. They are an international school, so their courses are in english.

Part 2: Rebranding University
Chosen University: FIDI - Florence Institute of Design International

Desktop Website - Redo

On the right is the main landing page for the desktop version of the FIDI. I used the highlights from the copper like color to make everything fit into a brand. The only images that are unnaffected by these modifications are the works that are made
by students, as this could result in the work / branding losing its purpose. Every button has a little
animation, which gives the webstie a little more life.

Youtube Video Mobile Version: https://youtu.be/o3Nfirxt34g
Mobile Website - Redo

The landing page for the mobile version
of the website is simpler than the desktop version, as I didn’t want to cram all the elements into the smaller screen. I put the picture of florence, with the same effect as in the desktop version, and I put in a nice readble size the name of the school. The bottom of the page features the
title again and it’s half cut off, but it’s
intentional, as it encourages the user to
scroll down to see more. There is also the drop down menu which works and shows
the different options people have acess to.

Marketing Campaign:

For the marketing campaign, I want to focus on creating a poster promoting an open day, that will be placed in an airport. The aim of this campaign is to get the international young travelers that
are looking for a place to study and have just landed into florence airport to see the poster, and to consider it as a possible thing to do
while they are there. This would be more effective than putting the poster in a random mall, because people from the area already know of the school, and since this is an International course that is being advertised, the best way to advertise it is in the airport, which is where a lot of international people can be found. If someone then falls in love with Florence and then they are on their way out of Italy to go back to their home, they will still see the poster and although they can’t attend the open day, they will remember and possibly check out the website through the QR code. This is in my opinion the best way to attract international people that already like florence enough to go there on a holiday. Another way of
doing this would be internet advertising, but the issue with it is that it would be hard to target the correct group of people.

Brochure:
When creating this brochure, I wanted my concept to still be present in the same way that it is with the website. I want the brochure to display the following information:
• Cover pages on both sides, so it’s irrelevant on which side it gets picked up on.
• Information mainly on graphic design master, but also advertising
the other master courses so it less likely the person throws it away if they aren’t just interested in graphic design.
• Show student work, to encourage reader.
• Feature a QR code with website link.
• Feature a map to show how central campus is.
• Appropriate Icons to aid in communication.
• Contact Information.
I want to create the kind of brochure that sticks out when it’s put together with other brochures.
