Brief:
Throughout this university project, we had to research some graphic designers in the editorial field, then research different types of magazines and different styles and pretend that we were writing a spread for one of those magazines. The content could be copied and pasted from an existing source, or could be written yourself. The spread consists of 6 pages (3 spreads) and one page had to be an advertisement, that split the current spread with the next one.
Chosen Magazine:
My magazine is inspired by the Top Gear magazines, a famous car review magazine / TV show. The car reviewed is the Ferrari SF90. The new flagship produces 729 horsepower with its 4.0L V8 engine. However, combined with its other 3 electric motors it produces an additional 217 horsepower, adding to a total of 946 horsepower. That power doesn't come cheap, as the price starts at €430,000.
The last page features a Hublot Ferrari watch advertisement, to match the target audience of the Ferrari SF90. The advertisement was made by me, but heavily influenced by the original advertisements, to keep it as authentic as possible.

Spread 1: Introuction
The first two pages of the review are used to introduce the Ferrari SF90. The puspose of using two pages is allow this picture to be viewed fully, and to be able to really feel the speed of the vehicle as it races through the Italian roads. The bottom of the second page features a quote, which serves the purpose of grabbing interest and making the reader want to flip the page.
Spread 2: Main Review
The positioning of the Ferrari point towards the text they should be reading. The Ferrari shown on the page on the right will redirect the reader on the left introduction paragraph. Once the reader is done reading, the attention is supposed to go on the yellow car on the left page, which will bring the attention of the reader to the next page, which features icons to better illustrate key information about the vehicle.
The text used within this spread is not my own, as I’ve copied and pasted if from the following link: https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/ferrari/sf90-stradale
Spread 3: Photoshoot and Hublot Advertisement
The last main page of the spread features a photoshoot of the vehicle, which is meant to show the different angles of the car. These can really give a great visual indicator of what the vehicles aesthetic is, showing that it’s not much of a comfortable luxury car, but rather a fast one, with a powerful engine and sporty speedometer.
The advertisement on the right aims to seperate this spread from the next one, but is still relevant to Ferrari, as its a special that was made in collaboration. This makes the ad relevant to the car, and also to the reader, as many who read Ferrari articles in magazines would be able to afford the watch shown in the advertisement.
